Growing Your Business With A Mentor

Many entrepreneurs and business owners like to be in control and work alone. Often they will have shown tenacity and resolve in order to get themselves to where they currently are. It is very difficult to start and business and make it profitable so it requires a large amount of drive and strength of character.

But most of these business owners can actually benefit greatly from having a mentor. A mentor can take on a number of different roles from being there to motivate you and push you forward to taking a more active role within your business.

A really good mentor should preferably be at the level that you hope to someday get to. They will usually be more experienced than you are but quite often will recognise themselves in you and be willing to help.

In order to actually get a mentor who can give you advice and guide you it will be necessary to actually show your worth. The best tactic I have found is to select somebody within the same type of business as you and find a number of ways you can add value to them and their business. You should do this without expecting anything in return and do a great job.

As the relationship grows you can then start to actually get some personal benefit from the relationship as the mentor shows an active interest in you. This can enable your business to grown and also see a big leap in your personal development.
